Pierre, the Wolf… and the little girl who wanted to hear stories

Presentation

After Peter and the Wolf, by Sergeï Prokofiev and  Contes 1, 2, 3, 4 (Tales 1, 2, 3, 4)  by Thomas Nguyen, based on the texts by Eugène Ionesco.

Pierre and Josette are two mischievous, curious, intrepid, dreamy and energetic children. Pierre is a country boy who loves to walk in the meadow next to his house, accompanied by his friends the bird, the duck and the cat. Josette is a city girl who loves listening to her father tell her stories. Both children love the unusual and the marvelous, and their adventures are recounted in these two musical tales.

Performed by a wind quintet, this score presents a new version of the famous musical tale by Sergeï Prokofiev, written and composed in 1936, which blends with the work of Thomas Nguyen, composed in 2020 and based on the text Contes 1, 2, 3, 4 (Tales 1,2,3,4) by Eugène Ionesco.

This concert is an ode to childhood, to the extraordinary and the marvelous, and is intended for those who love to hear stories!
